For generating a mesh of three equal element size of a rectangular geometry having length 3 meter and breadth 1 meter, I used edge sizing twice for horizontal and vertical boundaries.Thereafter I went for face sizing with element size 1m but am unable to see any mesh on the rectangular face.Kindly advise.

Hello,

Could you please share the error message from ANSYS meshing? It is hard to make out from your screenshot.

Thank you.

Best Regards,
Karthik

Rizwan,

Click on the Edge Sizing mesh control and look in the Details window. There is a row called Behavior. The default is Soft, which means the mesher takes the number of elements as a suggestion that it can ignore.  Change the Behavior to Hard and the mesher will respect the Edge Sizing input.

Regards,
Peter

Dear Peter

I am always using the ‘hard’ behaviour.Something else is being missed out.

Can you please insert some zoomed in images for your controls.

Please make sure that you use no. of divisions in edge sizing. Please use same no. of divisions on opposite edges.

Rizwan,

I am unable to see the details for all the methods that you are using but I would do this with following 3 local sizings:
