ACP: Orthotropic material shell

I want to simulate a composite plate with shell elements. If I add a new composite material in the engineering data with orthotropic elasticity I have to add all material properties for solid elements (E_x, E_y, E_z, etc.). But I have only the 2d material properties E_x, E_y, nu_xy, G_xy which should be enough to calculate shell elements. How can I handle this situation is it ok to set for example E_z to 1 (zero isn't allowed).

Hi, Just use what you have for E_y for E_z as well. It really shouldn't matter actually especially if you are using plane-stress elements but I only recommend this since there might also be an inbuilt stability criterion.
