Hi guys,

I am doing a flow analysis on a ventilated brake disc and I need to evaluate the mass flow rate that is coming out from the radial vane. I tried to find information online and I found a way which says to create a surface above the disc vane (2mm above) and evaluate the mass flow from that surface.

My first trial to create the surface that I need was to design three planes (as in the figure above) and trying to obtain a surface which is the intersection between the three planes, but I cannot obtain anything similar.

The surface that I need, should be as the green square between the two grey vertical planes.

Can you please explain to me how to do it?

Use an iso-clip on the green surface: limits will be in the y-direction.

I tried to do a general iso-clip on the green plane and to see some parameters but it seems that it doesn't work... And I can't put a y-direction limitis... I can't see where I am wrong

You should be able to clip to "Y" if you're looking at the list and can't see what you want to clip to is there a button next to the list with "..." on it? The interface doesn't always display everything but that "..." button opens all the possible options.

Upgrading to 2019 may also help.
