Any tutorials for apply the actuator disk concept for the modelling of a wind turbine

Hi,

I'm trying to create an actuator disc wind turbine placed inside a diffuser augmented wind turbine, wondering could the virtual blade method be used, or any advice on applying the frozen rotor permeable disc if not.

CFX if possible, can switch to fluent if it's easier

Need to replace a wind turbine blade with an actuator disc of the same volume which will result in a pressure drop across the actuator disc, done through a porous disc bit having trouble modelling any of it. Blade diameter is 100mm thickness of 20mm

can you please give description of your problem and what you are expecting. 

from what i understand, you may want to look at fan boundary condition in fluent.

Hi,

I have modeled a diffuser for the wind turbine and would like to replace the wind turbines blades with a porous disc that would create a pressure drop to save on computation time. Would the fan boundary condition do the same thing as the actuator disc?

i think you can. please check help manual for fan boundary condition.

also please check porous media in help manual. you can use porous media as well.
