CFX solver error symmetry boundary condition is not in a strict plane

Hi all,

I have created a mesh in ICEM and ensured via moving all visible nodes on the symmetry plane to z=0 that they are indeed all on the symmetry plane.

However, my simulations keep exiting with an error stating that the symmetry plane is not a strict plane. I'm reluctant to change the expert parameter as this would affect my solution but I have no idea why this keeps happening or what else I can do in ICEM to solve this issue.

Can anyone help out please?

Perhaps you have two side faces in the same boundary part. In ICEM you will need to separate them into two separate named boundaries and then set them as separate symmetry planes

Best regards,

Amine

The thing is with a higher value for 1st layer height I didn’t have the issue. Now that I have changed the value to something smaller the symmetry plane is not planar anymore.

Can it be linked to having to little overall elements now?

Or too many or too few associations?
