cooling is not decreasing temperature

Hi, 

I am solving a cooling problem in FLUENT. I have a hot solid object (500K, steel) in cold fluid (300K, air). There is a coupled wall interface between them. The temperatures are set up after initialization using Patch. The velocity of fluid around the object is approx. 20 ms-1. The problem is that the temperature of the solid object does not decrease with time, only the fluid gets heated. Where might be the problem?

do you the report plots of the temperature of solid and fluid?

this is the temperature of the solid. In the next piucture is the temperature contour after 70 seconds of steady airflow around the solid object. It seems to me fairly unreasonable

 

Maybe I am wrong, but I think after one minute of such flow with 200°C difference between air and steel, at least some small area of the solid should be at least a few °C colder than at the beginning

The temperature starts decreasing from the plot you shared? Please look after the average of the temperature inside the solid and report it. You can do a quick hand calculation assuming Newton'S cooling
