Zooomed image ...u can see the noeds being generated from edge sizing..but the elements arent created.

it simply creates the nodes at edges but doesnt form elements.

also the workbench throws the following error:

"The Mesh component in Fluid Flow (Fluent) requires user input before it can be updated."

i had done edge sizing before for various other geometries. but now, even for simple rectangle, it doesnt work. what would be the problem?

i had attached the zoomed image where u can see nodes created on the edges but it did not create respective mesh elements. can someone help me out please?

Hi, First check mesh statistics for nodes and elements count. I think your E.size is high.reduce it.

by saying edge size, do you mean to say that i need to reduce the length of my object itself ? i actually tried different dimensions for the simple rectangle geometry and also tried  changing the no of divisions under edge sizing, still it did not work.

you may need to use hard sizing.

yes... i used hard behaviour only. even then, the node points are only created at the edge but it doesnt mesh my geometry

Hi, Is your model 2D or 3D? Can you share the mesh settings images?

My geometry was imported using a coordinated file. As you can see in the image, i don't know why two planes were created. When i chose the front plane, even if the behavior was set to 'hard', the edge sizing did not happen. But,when i chose the back plane for making the edge selection, it worked!

and now, the problem is solved, i am able to perform edge sizing.

but still not sure, why it shows two planes?! ( i just imported the coordinates file-> lines from edges-> surfaces from edges..that all , then went to meshing)

Hi, As i can see you have created both line bodies connecting the boundary points and surface one surface body connecting boundary points again. So you have to apply element sizing on line bodies as well as surface bodies as both the individual bodies.

ohh.. yeah.. thanks .. got it ! so, creating just the surface body would do .
