I am trying to simulate a flow through a packed bed, but just as I'm about to initialize my solutions, I get the "FLOATING POINT EXCEPTION " error message. Any help please?

Floating point exceptions could be based on several reasons - ill defined boundary conditions, unrealistic initial values. Please provide us some more details about your model.

Here are some guidelines on posting questions on the community so we are able to understand issues better.

  • Be efficient - As our community grows it is becoming more likely that you are not the first to ask this question. Please search before creating a new post.

  • Be clear - Provide supporting screenshots, error messages, and background information. No simulation files will be opened by ANSYS support engineers.

  • Be precise  - Please use the right tags to help our engineers find your question.

  • Be patient - Please allow three days for someone to get back to you, if you have an urgent question, please email your ANSYS Account Manager.

  • Be helpful - Please help our community grow by answering other's questions and telling your academic colleagues about this resource.

Thank you.

Best Regards,

Thank you very much Karthik. I have discovered where the error was.

I forgot to delete a contact region before manually defining the interfaces, hence the "floating".

Please start a new thread and include what your problem is: adding to an old thread is likely to mean we miss the post.
