Harmonic Response pressure mapping

Hi everyone,

I am studying on mode superposition harmonic forced response analysis. I used external data module to map real and imaginary pressure distribution on fan blade. However, it doesn't give me any results. Here is the Error;

"MSUP Harmonic analysis does not support  combination of spatially and frequency varying loads. Please make sure that all the load variations are either spatial or frequency based."

So, how to I define all loads in one specific domain, maybe in spatial domain?

Another question is that  in the details of Imported Pressure (seen in attachment), Complex Component option only allows me to choose Real or Imaginary Pressure. Yet I can upload both real and imaginary pressure distributions. Am I doing something wrong? Any Suggestions?

The obvious thing to try as far as I can see is to use the full solution rather than the mode super position.

 

If this does not work I would try and take away the frequency definition in the mapped load (8251 Hz), thus it will only vary spatially and that should sort out the error you are getting.

Thanks for the answer. Full model doesnt work. I tried the second option. The error is the same. Any more suggestions can you advice?

Well full worked for me (on a test model I did) so it works. See below:

 

Take away your modal analysis and use only a harmonic analysis (when using full we do not need modes, hence we can take away the modal analysis). Then try again with the imported loads.

Hello Tayyip and jj77,

Umm newbie here, pardon me.. but how do you import a load to harmonic response? Is it possible to import a pressure from fluent to harmonic response?

Hello Kevin,

I havent tried before with fluent. But the important thing here is the exported text or excel format (or modifed). And then you can use external data module in workbench to define what the parameter is with its coordinates (if necessary)
