How to align two objects with different global coordinate systems in Ansys Results

Hi All,

I have two thermal models - one with a heat sink and another without. As these were made in two seperate CAD assembly files they have different global coordinate systems. I need to visualize the difference of temperature by comparing the two cases in ansys results. But I'm having troubles with aligning the two domains.

I have defined a new coordinate system on both models such that two CAD models will align perfectly. However, I'm unable to switch to these user defined coordinates systems in results editor.

I'm able to align them in the CAD and re-run whole simulation from scratch but I want to learn the proper way of doing this within Ansys.

Any line of advice is highly appreciated.

Thank you.

Which solver did you use? In Fluent you can move the mesh using Transform which will solve the problem. The best approach is to use the CAD, and do the alignment ahead of time.

Hi, Thanks for the advice.

I have used mechanical APDL to create a transient thermal model.
