I am doing flow analysis in double pipe heat exchanger using fluent. Here twisted tape is located inside the internal pipe . I successfully created the geometry using design modular. I am currently facing some trouble on meshing operations. Can anyone tell me what type of mesh is very effective this kind of heat exchanger???

Please can you post some images? By twisted tape do you mean a helical baffle?

OK, thanks. I'd split the centre channel with the baffle (I assume it's attached to the inner tube) and sweep. Looking at the upper image: you need to have mesh in the solid zone(s) or there will be no heat transfer.
Can you please elaborate further more I am working on same problem and uses tetrahedron mesh after all my efforts to generate a hexa mesh goes into vain which results in increase simulation time , can we generate structured mesh in 2m long and 0.02m diameter pipe.
and if yes please give some guidance too.

Dear peteroznewman, thanks for the lecture I section the pipe into 3 domain of 0.7m each and body become sweepable but as I generate mesh it results in The error says "the meshing has completed, but some elements are not compliant with the applied shape checking criteria" can you give your valuable suggestion on this.

Is it an error or a warning? Look at the Mesh Quality metrics to see if the element shapes are acceptable.
