Hello, guys

I meet a problem. I want to simulate a radial forging. But I want to make the four hammers go back and forth to hit the billet. But I don't know how to set the displacement of the hammers.

(This link that I find from youtube can help you to understand my mean)

as ansys employees we can not download attachments. please insert some zoomed in images.

if it is related to ANSYS then please  select structural machanics as category.

One arrangement that is consistent with ANSYS simulation is to locate a hammer tangent to the workpiece and start the simulation with the hammer having an initial velocity (impact velocity) and the kinetic energy of the mass of the hammer and the initial velocity does plastic deformation work on the workpiece. This kind of simulation is Transient Dynamics or Explicit Dynamics.

What is the mechanism that moves the hammers and lifts them after the blow has landed?
