I wanted to know which type of mesh would be suitable in ansys workbench to create a mesh of human bones (knee joint). I require a mesh type which also requires less computational power. Thank you for your help in advance.

If you make the bones hollow and leave out the very weak spongy center and only have geometry for the thin compact bone at the surface, you will have a large reduction in model size and the time to solve will be much less.

Is tetrahedron a good choice for the meshing the bones? As the bones have highly irregular surfaces, the hex dominant meshing was giving errors.
Tetrahedral mesh(unsteuctured mesh) for structural mechanics should not be a problem it is not as sensitive as in CFD.

Yes, tetrahedral elements are okay for this mesh since the deformations will be small. Brick or hex meshing is very helpful when deformations are large such as with the incompressible rubber in this post.
Some researchers are using hex meshes.
