Hi all,

I am going to make simulation of  natural convection(water) in magnetic field, but I have problem how to start with magnetic field. Can you give me some tips what I need to start this simulation. Which udf's are necessary.

Thanks for your reply.

Do you have the losses which could be just added as source term in the energy equation? Have you looked into MHD module in Fluent?

Best regards,

Amine

I can use MHD module but I need to generate magnetic induction field.

What is then missing in the Fluent MHD? I am sorry but I need to ask as it is not directly one my expertise fields.

I am asking because it is my first time My topic is natural convection of water in cubic.

Natural Convection is straightforward: density dependency of temperature + transient solver + resolved wall boundary layers. Bear mind for fluids with Pr>1 that is actually the thermal boundary layer which needs to be quantified to set up a reasonable near wall resolution.

Without magnetic field I dont have any problems but I dont know how start with magnetic field.

Check the User Guide for setting up the case
