I am trying to design an antenna that is focused in the near-field. I would like to optimize the antenna's power density on a plane at a distance of 1 m from the antenna (which is around 10*wavelength) and this location lies in the near-field of my antenna due to the antenna's electrical size. The near-field simulation setup allows me plot the fields on a sphere or a line but not on a plane.
I read somewhere that I could place a non-model plane at a distance of 1m from my antenna and plot the fields on it, but then this kind of simulation would be computationally expensive due to the size....
I was wondering how I would go about performing this simulation?
