I am trying to use measured roughness data in CFX. It seems like it would work, but it doesn´t.

Any Ideas what I´m doing wrong?

I can import the file, but it dos´nt change the roughness value. (see picture 3 and 4)

If you look into the data you have, the Sand Grain Roughness can easily be defined as a numerical value (either 0.05 or 0 [m]).

So the data you have essentially provides you the information of sand grain roughness in Z = 0 [m] and Z = 1 [m] planes. At Z = 0 [m] plane, the roughness is 0.05 [m]; and at Z = 1 [m] plane, the roughness is 0 [m]. So you can define two sets of walls: (1) Rough walls and (2) Smooth walls.

The data doesn't provide you any information about the top and bottom planes. You might want to see what the value of roughness at those planes would be and define it simply as a single numerical value. Hope this helps!
