Have you struggled to read some of the text in images included in some posts.

I avoid putting in images that are too wide, but I put one in this post for you to experience the problem.

Simply zooming in with the Browser zoom function doesn't give you any more resolution, but there is a workaround.

Chrome users: Right click on the image and select Open Image in New Tab.
Firefox users: Right click on the image and select View Image.
Internet Explorer users: get Chrome of Firefox; seriously.

Then in the new tab, delete the last part of the name in the address bar, the part after the ? character.

For example in the above image, the name in the address bar is:

content/uploads/3e825b35-df61-45f5-9693-a81101684b62/325eaa51-75f7-4b52-af54-a95600465983_toowide.jpg?width=690&upscale=false

Delete the ?width=690&upscale=false then hit enter, now you have recovered a full resolution image.

Some other websites do this automatically when you double click on an embedded image. That would be a nice enhancement to this site.

Regards,

Peter

Hi Peter,

Yes, this enhancement request has been put in and I.T is looking into this.

This workaround you provided is really good and would help a lot, thank you.

Regards,

Sandeep
