scheme procedure in ANSYS fluent

 Hello everyone,

I have a geometry with periodic boundary condition. I would like to specify the mass flow rate for the periodic boundary. And I want to set the mass flow rate as input parameter and pressure gradient as output parameter to do a parametric study automatically with Ansys Fluent. I know I can use scheme procedure to set the input parameters, but I am not sure how to do achieve that. Are there any suggestions?

Hi, you could define mass flow rate as an input parameter in Fluent and pressure gradient as an output parameter. Then go back to Workbench and do the parametric study.

Thanks vganore.

I managed to set mass flow rate as input parameters by using scheme procedure, but still couldn't find any way to set pressure gradient as output parameter. The thread you provided is not for setting parameters of periodic boundary conditions, so I still have no idea about how to do that.

Hi,

Pressure gradient could be set as output parameter as Fluent provides with the pressure gradient related to the mass flow and you have the pressure field which is related to the local motion inside the "periodic" module. So I will directly pick the value which fluent will provide you as you are setting the mass-flow rate as your input. This is automatically available and can be directly set as output parameter.

I am also simulating a similar model where I have a periodic boundary condition. Can you please share with me how you managed to define Mass flow rate as input parameter. I am unfamiliar with usage of scheme.
