Hi

I have a couple of questions.

1. Is there any way to calculate electromagnetic shear stress at the rotor of the motor using Maxwell 2D or 3D?

2. Can we have current in xy plane in Maxwell 2D, I want to calculate Lorentz Force.

Thanks

1. Electromagnetic forces can be calculated in Maxwell and these can be used to compute sheer stress at the rotor using Ansys mechanical coupling.

2. No, In Maxwell 2D xy-plane is for the magnetic fields and Z is for assigning the current direction. Adjust the model such that the current direction falls in the Z -direction. If not, the model might not be axisymmetric and requires Maxwell 3D analysis.
