Hello Guys,

I am working on the 2d simulation of melting of phase change material in Ansys fluent. I would like to know how can i create a graph that represents liquid fraction vs time , melting front in X and Y coordinate? Below i have attached the image please help me to solve this issue. Thanks in advance.

Kind Regards,

Karthik

Create an isosurface of solidification 0.9 (experiment with the value) and this should create a line in 2d. Plot the x & y coordinates of the line. The line will move with time so you'll need to export the position data every some time steps. The x-y plot in Fluent is probably the best way to do this.

Thank you for your reply. How do you create an iso surface and define the experimental value ? Can you show me some pics if you have one?

To create the surface Create -> Surface in post processing tab, you'll need to initialise the solution first. Once you have that look for the plots option in the same tab.

I followed the procedure from the post processing

Create - Iso surface - surface of constant - solidification/melting - liquid fraction - Iso values (0.5) - create. But it shows error - surface creation failed. do you know why?

Check the material has started to melt: it needs the value to exist to create the surface.
