Theory behind two-way FSI coupling

Hello ANSYS users,

I seek some information on the coupling algorithm used for two-way FSI simulations in ANSYS. In particular, what is the coupling algorithm used for two-way FSI simulations? For problems with significant added-mass, how are the instabilities arising due to added-mass are resolved? Is there any manual or references where I can access this information?

Any information on these aspects is highly appreciated.

Hi Raef,

Not exactly. I understand that ANSYS uses some type of loosely-coupled iterative algorithm for resolving fluid-solid coupling in the two-way FSI but I have not found the exact algorithm that is being used. I would appreciate it very much if you can point to the right document.
