Hi

The problem is that the geometry does not load into Mechanical no matter how simple it is (not even a rectagular plate) and no matter if it is defined using Design Modeler, SpaceClaim or any other CAD software.

The 2 error messages I get after Mechanical is closed automatically is the following:

1. Type: Error!

Message: Unable to set display parameters property in Mechanical Either the application crashed or Workbench lost communication with it.

2. Type: Warning!

Message:Unable to initialize addins in Mechanical. Either the application crashed or Workbench lost communication with it (No se puede establecer una conexión ya que el equipo de destino denegó expresamente dicha conexión 127.0.0.1:57747).

In particular, what happens is that I double click on Mechanical and stays for a while showing the empty bars of the geometry loading process on the screen (does not start loading), before showing the message bellow and automatically closing mechanical:

AnsysWBU.exe encountered a problem. A diagnostic file has been written: ../AnsysWBDumpFile.dmp

When I try to open the dmp software using a software specific for that I'm not able to open it, the file is attached

If I try to open the mechancial APDL just shows a black window, does not work

Thank you very much!

 Hi ialonso,

There are several causes for the issue opening Mechanical GUI. Most common cause is graphics; however, I would recommend to check/try all of these

https://studentcommunity.ansys.com/thread/installation-issues-and-starting-problems-geometry-editor/?order=all#comment-d679f502-c0dd-4edc-87b5-a98801843d73

and let us know how it goes. Note: Make sure you update graphics driver to the latest as well.

Now your Mechanical APDL issue is not related to the above. Please try suggestions in here

https://studentcommunity.ansys.com/thread/ansys-mechanical-apdl-2019-r1-doesn-t-run/

If that doesn't help, please post the output of the 'set' command (without quote ' ') from CMD Prompt

Thanks,

Win
