Unrealistic deformation in a linear static analysis

I have a model that includes two parts solid and shell.

I've joined these two parts with merge nodes.

I want to do a linear static analysis on them.

After analysis, deformations are very small(0.3e-7).But in some places in the model, these two parts go inside or go apart.

While this does not happen, if I do a non-linear analysis on the same model with the same characteristics.

Is this a real deformation?

No, it's not a real deformation, it is just the deformation display scale that is set to a number much larger than 1.  When you run a non-linear analysis, the deformation display scale is set to 1.0.  I am a Mechanical Workbench user, so I don't know the APDL menu or command to change the display scale.

Yes, when nlgeom, on is active so large displacement is on then deformation scale is 1. /dscale, all, 1 command can set that.

We are all using apdl, just different pre and post processors (ansys classic gui or wb gui).
